Gonzo

Last night my mom let my brothers my sister and I go outside and play freeze tag. While we were playing Kathryn saw a dog across the street. We went across the street and the dog ran across to the other street so we did to. Then he came up to me and started sniffing me. We saw his collar and had Jordan go get food for him. Mom said he couldn't get food but she told him to write down the numbers on his licenses. There were four Warren numbers and then we finally found his number and his name. His name was Gonzo. Mom called his owner and she came to pick him up.

A Physical Map of Your State
*A physical map shows the land and water areas of the earth and gives
their names. Post a physical map of your state.

Also, if it's an easy-info assignment (IE state nickname) please try to use books and not just search it on the internet. Write your own words, instead of copying info off a site. I found a bunch of history books and I
will be using them as much as I can to find info. Go look through your bookshelves and pull out any books that will help you with the assignments.

Homeschool Kids Write Assignment #2

August 3, 1492

We have finally set sail on the Santa Maria for the Indies. I am kind of afraid, but now we've started and I can't go back. I wonder if we are going to make it to the Indies. Captain Columbus wants to make it by sailing west the whole way.

September 25, 1492

We have been at sea for a whole month and we are running low on food and water. I am still wondering if we are going to make it to the Indies. I want to be the first one to spot land because Queen Isabella promised a reward to the first sailor to spot land. I am on watch tonight and I see the Captain pacing around on the deck. I wonder what he is thinking. Suddenly I heard a sailor shout "Land!" It turned out too be a false alarm.

October 12, 1492

I was so tired last night and I was on watch. Suddenly I saw a light. It did not look like a star; it looked more like a fire. Very excited I shouted, "Land! Land!" The Captain came and stood beside me. He saw the light too and was sure it was a fire. Early this morning we landed. It was good to feel ground again. It was the first time in three months. We had made it to the Indies.

State Exploration Assignment 5

Michigan's nickname is The Wolverine State. The reason is that the Native  Americans would trade wolverine skins with the French explorers. Wolverines don't really live in Michigan. Native Americans got the skins from Canada and brought them to Michigan.

I don't know who named it The Wolverine State and I don't know when.

I found an interesting story that I never heard before. Well, there was an old man that owned a tavern. He was called the "Old Coon." When people came he would tell his wife Sally to make wolf steaks. One time a young guest asked if she was really eating wolf steaks and he said yes she was. She said, "Then that would make me a wolverine," and he said, "Yes, it would ." So  the settlers started calling themselves wolverines.

Michigan is also called The Great Lakes State because it is surrounded by three of the great lakes.

Homeschool Kids Write Assignment #1

What are the pros and cons of being homeschooled? What do you like best? Why? What do you like least? Why?

I like everything about homeschooling because I love to learn, I am a Bookworm, and I get to spend more time with my family. I can't think of anything I don't like about homeschooling.
